Shipping container house for 2 in New Zealand
This is the Port-a-Bach system from New Zealand's Atelier Workshop.
"Costing around $55,000, Port-a-Bach sleeps two adults and two children comfortably, in a dwelling that folds up into a fully enclosed steel shell. It comes with large internal storage cupboards and shelves; a stainless steel kitchen; bathroom with shower, sink and composting toilet; bunk beds and dressing room. Fabric screens allow you to shape internal space, as well as shelter the outdoor deck area.
Bach (pronounced Batch) is Kiwi slang for 'Bachelor Pad…'"

Lloyd, the word bach is actually a small and modest dwelling used mainly for holidaying in by the beach. In certain parts of New Zealand the same little dwelling is called a crib. There are still many of these wonderful little places dotted all around the coast of this beautiful country but unfortunately land developers move in and buy them up, pull them down and put up monster houses on the land. Generations of Kiwi's, (New Zealanders) have lived and holidayed for many years, they were mostly made of recycled materials with corrugated roofs, had funky fireplaces and porches out front... no, the word doesn't mean a bachelor pad but it was a creative thought and very apt... I will post some typical baches for you...
Very nice, thanks for the information.
